Performance Coach – Cycle/TRX
Get ready to push beyond your limits and rock your ride to motivational tunes that will leave you inspired and invigorated. Shannon Summerlin brings infectious energy and a unique enthusiastic style to the cycle studio. She grew up in California where most of her time was spent in the pool. Her love for sports and passion for fitness led her to becoming an indoor cycling and group fitness instructor where she has landed for the past eight years.
Connecting with clients both physically and mentally is one of Shannon’s strengths. A decorated Division I Collegiate Swimmer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Shannon earned a BA in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the College of William and Mary. She currently holds both National and State Master’s Swim records. Her exceptional swimming background led her to establishing herself as an elite triathlete, where she holds accolades such as Virginia Triathlon Series Overall Female Champion. Athletic success coupled with solid experience as a Swim Coach at the collegiate, high school, and age group levels contribute to her unique ability to motivate and inspire her classes.
Shannon’s goal is to design and deliver a high energy, calorie burning, motivating ride from start to finish. She is as passionate about her music as she is about the choreography of her rides. Every class features a mix of pop, rock, alternative and hip hop tunes that always keep things fun. Rides are rhythmic, transitions are fluid, and workout sessions are powerful.
When she isn’t at the LAB, Shannon works at Lewis Gale Medical Center doing Psychiatric Assessment and Virginia Gators where she is a Swim Coach. Shannon is the mother of 3 busy and athletic girls with a love for dance, surfing, music and competing. Outside of the fitness world Shannon lives for the beach where she and her family often escape. Her husband Dan is very supportive of her fitness and beach addictions.
