Shannon Summerlin

Performance Coach – Cycle/TRX

Get ready to push beyond your limits and rock your ride to motivational tunes that will leave you inspired and invigorated.  Shannon Summerlin brings infectious energy and a unique enthusiastic style to the cycle studio.  She grew up in California where most of her time was spent in the pool.  Her love for sports and passion for fitness led her to becoming an indoor cycling and group fitness instructor where she has landed for the past eight years.

Connecting with clients both physically and mentally is one of Shannon’s strengths.  A decorated Division I Collegiate Swimmer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Shannon earned a BA in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the College of William and Mary.  She currently holds both National and State Master’s Swim records.  Her exceptional swimming background led her to establishing herself as an elite triathlete, where she holds accolades such as Virginia Triathlon Series Overall Female Champion.  Athletic success coupled with solid experience as a Swim Coach at the collegiate, high school, and age group levels contribute to her unique ability to motivate and inspire her classes.

Shannon’s goal is to design and deliver a high energy, calorie burning, motivating ride from start to finish.  She is as passionate about her music as she is about the choreography of her rides.  Every class features a mix of pop, rock, alternative and hip hop tunes that always keep things fun.  Rides are rhythmic, transitions are fluid, and workout sessions are powerful.

When she isn’t at the LAB, Shannon works at Lewis Gale Medical Center doing Psychiatric Assessment and Virginia Gators where she is a Swim Coach.  Shannon is the mother of 3 busy and athletic girls with a love for dance, surfing, music and competing.  Outside of the fitness world Shannon lives for the beach where she and her family often escape.  Her husband Dan is very supportive of her fitness and beach addictions.

Cathy Cannon

Performance Coach – Yoga

Cathy Cannon is a 200 hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance. Her training began with yoga particularly focused on fitness. Although her study has evolved she continues to enjoy a vigorous, vinyasa style flow which requires strength and balance yet with calm focus and smooth breathing. This awareness of a quiet mind during difficult effort translates off the mat and into life in surprising ways.

Cathy was a American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer for 15 years and has taught various forms of group exercise since the age of 16.

Nicole Pardon

Performance Coach – Cycle

Being a former college cheerleader, group exercise instructor, and marathon runner, Nicole has always had a passion for fitness.  She is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and Keiser M3 cycle certified. Additionally, Nicole received her Health Coaching Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she was trained on dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods.

Nicole’s professional interest in nutrition and training peaked after her own journey into fitness and weight loss through competitive bodybuilding. She has competed in several National Figure Competitions and has received many awards as a figure athlete.

Working in the pharmaceutical industry for 13 years, Nicole understands how poor diet and lifestyle choices can lead to chronic disease. She is passionate about inspiring others to push beyond their limits and helping clients balance their busy lives while making fitness and nutrition a priority.

When not at the LAB, Nicole works as a Senior Biopharmaceutical Representative selling an Osteoporosis Medicine.  She has two busy athletic boys, Jacob 10 and Maxwell 8.  She has been married to her husband Steve for 14 years and credits his support for her ability to be the fitness addict that she is.

Nicole is looking forward to WORKING your RIDE through fun, motivating and challenging drills.  She’s excited to meet many more awesome, fit LAB members who continually inspire her to keep pushing and growing.
